NERVE FUNCTION

  • Sensorimotor deficit is observed under various diseases that affect the nervous system.

    SNCV

Sensory nerve conduction velocity is used in the diagnosis of nerve damage or nerve dysfunction. NEUROFIT implements this test to evaluate the neuroprotective properties of compounds.

  • Compound testing

Neuro-regenerative drugs are usually tested in this model but other treatments could also be considered. Please feel free to contact us to discuss the feasibility of your study.
  • Endpoints

    Conduction velocity time course

  • Validation data

  • Diabetic rats
  • Nerve conduction deficit in diabetic rats

  • Reduction of nerve conduction velocity similar to that observed in human are observed.

Diabetic neuropathy can be studied in rat following streptozotocin administration which induces a rapid and persistent hyperglycaemia.
